Webtronix Chicago · since 2010

Software and web development company in Chicago

Working with US clients since 2010, and where most of our US projects start.

Webtronix started in Islamabad in 2008, and two years later we started working in Chicago. Projects for US clients are planned, signed and managed from here, with our engineering team in Islamabad doing much of the build. You get someone in your time zone to talk to and a full development team behind them.

Who we work with in the US

Mostly small and growing businesses and non-profits, the kind that need a proper website or store but don't want to hire an in-house team for it. A few examples from our portfolio:

  • 24x7 Black Car, a chauffeured car service across Chicago, Indiana and Wisconsin. Customers book by vehicle type straight from the first screen.
  • ISPI USA, a Chicago policy institute. Its site publishes articles, scholars and events, and handles donations and membership.
  • The Vitamart, the US store for Nutrifactor supplements, run by its authorised distributor, with shopping by health need, bundles and launch offers.

You can see more on our work page.

What we usually build here

Online stores. Most US retail clients are on Shopify, and we'd usually recommend it. We wrote about when Shopify is right and when it isn't.

Websites that bring in enquiries. Service businesses, clinics, contractors and non-profits, where the site has to show up in local search and make it easy to call, book or donate.

Custom software. Booking systems, customer portals and internal tools, when an off-the-shelf product almost fits but not quite.

Things we think about for US projects

Accessibility. US businesses can face legal complaints when their websites can't be used with a screen reader or keyboard. We build to the WCAG guidelines from the start, which is much cheaper than fixing a finished site.

Payments and tax. Sales tax rules differ from state to state. Shopify and Stripe handle most of it, but we check how your products are taxed before launch, not after the first complaint.

Speed on phones. Most of your visitors will be on a phone, often on mobile data. We test on real devices, not just a desktop browser.

Working with us from Chicago

We're happy to meet on a video call, which is how most clients prefer it now. You get one project manager who answers your questions, regular demos of the work as it's built, and the code and accounts in your name when it's done.

Tell us about your project on the contact page, and we'll reply within one business day.
